Henry County's Plumbing Challenges

Paris and the surrounding Henry County area present a specific set of plumbing conditions that require a plumber who knows what they are looking at. The older homes near downtown and around the courthouse square frequently contain clay and Orangeburg sewer lines, materials that were standard decades ago but are now well past their service life. These lines crack, collapse, and deform over time. Many Paris homes also contain aging CPVC supply lines, which become brittle over the years and are prone to cracking, particularly in homes that have seen temperature swings or have gone through periods of low use.

TennCo. Plumbing uses sewer camera inspections to accurately assess the condition of your home’s drain lines before recommending any course of action. We give you a clear picture of what is actually happening underground before a single repair begins.

cast iron drain replacement with pvc in Paris, TN.

Whole House Drain Line Replacement in Paris, TN

July 2026 · Paris, near the hospital

What we found. Every drain in the house was running slow. The original cast iron in the crawlspace had scaled and built up internally to the point that the pipe walls had closed down, leaving very little opening for water to pass.

What we did. We removed the cast iron and replaced it with 80 feet of Schedule 40 PVC in the crawlspace, 3 inch on the main with 2 inch branch lines, tying in the kitchen sink, toilet, tub, and washing machine. All connections tested before closing up.

Sewer camera inspection and cleanout installation on an original 1915 sewer line in Paris, TN

Sewer Line Access and Cleanout Installation in Paris, TN

August 2026 · Downtown Paris

What we found. A 1915 home with the original plumbing still in service and the main line backed up. There was no cleanout anywhere on the property, so there was no way to access the line and clear the obstruction.

What we did. We located the underground sewer line, which turned out to be Orangeburg, and determined the best point to open it up. We installed a double cleanout at that location, which gave us access in both directions, and cleared the obstruction from there. The cleanout stays in place for any future service.

New 50 gallon electric water heater and brass ball valve installed by TennCo. Plumbing in Paris, TN

Water Heater Replacement in Paris, TN

August 2026 · Paris city limits

What we found. The homeowner was preparing the property as a rental and wanted the water heater replaced before a tenant moved in. The existing unit was 15 years old and still working. When we drained it, it drained slowly, which points to sediment built up across the bottom of the tank.

What we did. We replaced it with a 50 gallon electric water heater in the utility closet, same capacity as the original. New brass ball valve on the cold supply, adapted from the existing CPVC to PEX-A at the connections, and tied into the existing T&P discharge line routed to the exterior since the home is on a slab. Old unit hauled off.

Residential drinking water in the city of Paris is entirely groundwater. The municipal system, managed by the Paris Board of Public Utilities, pumps source water from deep underground wells, then filters, treats, and distributes it to homes across the community.

Because the local supply relies on deep groundwater wells, tap water in Paris naturally carries elevated mineral levels. Over time those minerals can lead to scale buildup in water heaters, reduced water pressure, and minor fixture staining, which makes routine plumbing maintenance and water filtration worth considering for local properties.

While city residents rely on municipal wells, homes in unincorporated Henry County are typically served by rural utility providers or private well systems. Properties near Kentucky Lake, such as those on Springville Utility District lines, use localized distribution that often calls for specific filtration to handle regional ground conditions.

Yes. Paris homeowners call us when there is water under the house, a damp subfloor, or a joist that stays wet. Our team gets under the home, tracks down the source, and handles the crawlspace leak repair, whether it is a supply line, a drain, or a worn fitting.

Terri S.

Today we had Terry with TennCo out to our home in Paris, TN to check under our house to make sure we didn't have a leak. He thoroughly checked out under our house, looked in our bathroom where we thought a leak may be originating from. While he was here, he was stocked and ready to do something that will greatly help my husband when he gets back and is ready to put in a shower. We hadn't expected to ask but while my husband was on the phone with him... TennCo customer service is A+. Both friendly and professional. It was fantastic that they are close to Paris. Their creditials are superb! Their prices are vary fair. Needless to say, we will be using TennCo again!
